Have youever felt trapped? Caged? Barred? Have you ever looked up from your average, normal life -out from the tedium of normality and sanity- and felt that somehow, some way that you were chained down? Can you ever feel yourself sealed in your own body, stuck in a constant cycle of life that bores you to tears at the very thought of it? And, have you ever, ever, felt the need, so incredibly overwhelming, to simply escape it all?
That, my freind, is the wild calling. It is the animal nature inside of you, wakened, once sleeping, rising from repose to feel the need of excitement and freedom and passion beyond all humanity. That is the furred beast wanting to spread its paws in the crisp winter snow, it is the winged bird wanting to spread its feathers and soar undaunted through the skies.
And, it is exactly what you will find here, in this hallowed place.
The only question is, are you willing to fight for that freedom?
Announcements Right >.> It's been a while, but I think some changes are in order! 2BW is back in business, and that means a nice new layout and some good ol' fashioned advertising! ^^ WIP~

Kanaloa was as cheerful as a newborn kitten chasing a butterfly. Human volleyball was fun! She even forgot her mean demeaner for a while. Then the drunk man managed to land a swipe at Lyra and Kanaloa snarled.
"Yes they do." she said to Lyra. "But my back is to the water so here you go!" she said as she passed the humans back to Lyra. She snickered as she did so. Revenge is sweet.

"Why thank you." Lyra said politely to Kanola. She waited fro the humans to tumble back over to her, but when they did, instead of catching them, she stooped low, going on all fours. The first man tripped over her, and she shoved him with her back over the railing of the boat and into the water with a pleasing splash. The second she stopped, and as he fell down, dizzy, she pushed him under the railing and over the edge to join his freind.
The second fell on the first, and they floundered drunkenly and confusedly in the dark water, pitch black to human eyes. She thought she heard one of them speak as the wet heads came through the surface of the glassy lake.
"Let's get out of here, man!"
Lyra sat on the edge of the boat, inviting Kanaloa over with a flick of her tail. She watched as they eventually floundered away into the shallows.

The splash created by the humans came up and semi-landed on Kanaloa's back. She shook herself but she didn't care though. These humans were just to amussing!
The humans left; slowly the smell of alcohol started to dissapate. One could still readily smell it in the air, in the lake, and on the ground but it was begining to leave.
Kanaloa laughed. "No they never will." she added and then rolled on the ground, not literally, releasing the laughter that she had built up during that ordeal.
All her previous fatigue and pain from the boat had left her.

Lyra joined Kanaloa in a light, joyous laughter. What fun it was to amuse herself with humans, and how amusing they were indeed! She sat down, licking the soar spot on her nose where the boat had hurt her. It did not hurt as much now, and the laughter helped her not feel it.
There was nothing better than a good laugh with a well-earned freind, Lyra thought, triumphantly, and Kanaloa was well earned. She had passed Lyra's test, though he had never known there was one. Lyra ran her tongue over her nose absentmindedly, thinking about this.
It was getting light now. The sun was streaking the horizon with rose colored light. The night had been a long one, but a good one. Lyra stopped to watch it as it turned a warm peach color.

Kanaloa felt perfect. Since she was young, her resiliancy was tougher than that of an older Dias. She couldn't even feel her aching limbs anymore. The laughter made her totally forget about the incident.
Kanaloa knew at that moment that Lyra was the best friend that she had ever had. Yes she was friends with her parents and with some humans in her lifetime but she had never felt so close and trusting of another being.
Seeing Lyra gaze off, Kanaloa took this oportunity to splash her with a mighty wave of water. She laughed harder and turned from Lyra so as to not be splashed in the face herself. Then she saw the sunrise and gazed at its splendid beauty.
There was a magnificant display of pinks, oranges, reds, and purples. The sunrise was layered as well, starting with the lightest color nearest the horizon and the darkest furthest from it. Since Kanaloa spends half her time in the wild, this sunrise was not the most beautiful that she had seen but it was near the top of the list.

Lyra snorted as the water got in her nose, ruining her good mood. She didn't mind though. She liked Kanaloa. She did however still hold true to the revenge principle. She swam around the side of the cat, mesmerized by the beauty of the water, and splashed her back.
Tiredness overtook her then, and the dragging need for sleep.
"Ah" She sighed. "It has been a good night, and I have made a good friend." She smiled her wolf smile for Kanaloa. "But I am an old wolf. I need my rest. The day draws on, and ushers in new challenges. I must meet them, as, I'm sure, you will too."
Lyra took in a deep breath of Kanaloa's scent, marking it, memorizing it. She would know it anywhere now, she was sure of it. She would not lose this one to fate. The Spirits had been too kind to her to allow such a thing.
"But I will always be able to find you. Thank you, Kanaloa, for the gift of a friend."

Kanaloa screamed as water hit her face. "Hey!" she laughed. She was about to splash Lyra back when the wolf spoke. She could feel the seriousness of the conversation from the tops of her ears to the tip of her tail.
Kanaloa smiled at the old wolf. "And thank you Lyra. You have given me so much more than you could possibly imagion. I will be grateful to you for the rest of my days." Kanaloa knew that the time was approaching for each of them to go their seperate ways, but she knew that it was time. "I am confident that we will see each other again mighty wolf."

Lyra nodded her head, and with that, she left. She had never been one for long goodbyes, but she had always been one for making new acquaintances. Today, she could safely say that she had done more than that. She had made a genuine and true friend, and she would, from that point on, always value what the two had.
Besides, Kanaloa had passed her test. There was potential yet for the young cat, and Lyra was not done with her here...
Protect the other. Find more of them. Then, the time will come.
Her instinct echoed clearly in the back of her head, and she would obey it. She did not know to what end, but she knew there would be great danger. Danger well hidden now that the beautiful sun had blocked the darkness with its golden light.

Kanaloa shifted as Lyra padded away. Speaking in a quiet voice she said. "You and I, are destinies together are not complete. We will meet in the future you and I. And we will make a great difference to this land."
Shaking her head as if coming out of a trance Kanaloa walked beside the river in her white dress. The foreign words she had spoken echoed in her head. I'm not sure what those words meant, but I just know that they are right.
